Nestled at the base of Phnom Voar, only 40 minutes from Kampot and 20 minutes from Kep, Ny Ann Pepper Farm is one of the area’s most beautiful and friendliest Kampot Pepper Farms. It isn’t as big as some of the other Kampot pepper farms. However, what they lack in size, is made up with a big smile, and a warm, genuine hospitality, which ultimately, gives you a much more personal experience.

They offer personal tours of the vines and have a wonderful air-conditioned coffee shop and an open-air restaurant, offering many shaded seating areas. Please note that the farm actually sits in Kep Province, but is classified under the umbrella of Kampot Pepper.

Ny Ann Pepper Farm – Kampot Pepper

As mentioned above, Ny Ann Pepper Farm is not the largest in the area. It is a family run farm, and home to 1300 pepper vines. They did have many more, however, that was before Pol Pot ran his regime, and dispersed everyone from their land. That period, around 1975, disrupted the whole pepper industry in the Kampot and Kep area.

The farm is totally organic. This is a requirement to remain a member of the Kampot Pepper Promotion Association. Ny Ann Pepper Farm produces white, red, and black pepper, which are all available for purchase. Aside from the pepper, they have many durian trees, a number of well-established fruit trees, and the largest pineapples I have ever seen. And they taste delicious! When the fruit is ripe they are always happy to share with the weary traveler.

Coffee Shop and Restaurant

The coffee shop is a welcome relief from the heat of the day. My advice to you, before you head on your little guided tour, is to grab a coffee and relax in the air-conditioning for 10 minutes or so. They also have bottled water, soft drinks, and cold beers available. Here, they also have their pepper on display, which is always available for purchase, along with a nice selection of knick-knacks.

If you are feeling hungry, they have a tasty menu available running all day. You can choose to sit in the air-conditioning or opt to sit in the open-air restaurant that looks out to the farm and surrounds. Thatched roofed cabanas are also scattered around offering ample shade. They even come with their own hammocks.
